I am Jayme. I am a public health nurse educator and Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) coordinator for Itasca County Public Health. I began my role as a public health nurse in 2016 after dabbling in other areas of nursing. Regardless of the nursing specialty, one thing was a constant, education. I enjoy learning, sharing knowledge and teaching others. I graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science- Nursing degree with a minor in Psychology. I have been a registered nurse for ten years. My work as a SHIP coordinator supports policy, system and environmental changes that help reduce chronic health conditions. I enjoy meeting with different members of the community that share the passion of health. SHIP work in Itasca County is focusing around mental wellbeing, tobacco free living, healthy eating and active living through partnerships with school districts, healthcare systems and different community organizations throughout Itasca County.
