I’m Hartley Newell-Acero, the Outreach Coordinator at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic in Grand Marais. My biggest part of my job is getting accurate health information out to the people in my community through our social media accounts, writing the “Topic of the Month” newsletter, and coordinating educational programming. My SHIP work includes getting to be a part of the Northwoods Food Project, a group dedicated to expanding and supporting local food systems. Born in the deep south and raised in Texas, I’ve lived in Grand Marais since 2010. I count myself as incredibly lucky to be in this place, with these people, doing this work.
