Anna Johnson is the Community Health Coordinator and interim SHIP Coordinator for Get Fit Itasca, a community nonprofit whose mission is “to engage all people in the Itasca Area to make healthy choices and participate in activities that improve their quality of life.” Get Fit Itasca and SHIP work closely with Healthy Northland and county partners to promote initiatives in active living, healthy eating, school wellness, workplace wellness, tobacco, and healthcare.
Anna grew up in Grand Rapids, MN and enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking, and backpacking. She graduated from Michigan Technological University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Her experience includes working at the MN Department of Agriculture, a water quality lab, the MN DNR, and the U of MN North Central Research and Outreach Center. Anna enjoys the challenge of creating systems that improve the efficiency and sustainability of community projects.
